“I have a lot of people to thank. But, above all, I thank God for sending Jesus to save me.”

With three siblings, Marcus came to the Ranch as an eleven year old boy. Marcus adjusted to life well at the Ranch. He especially enjoyed the recreation and outdoor activities that the Ranch offered.

“My mom said she would come back to see us after we had been there a while, but she didn’t,” recalls Marcus.

During campus breaks, students are able to return to their families. Because Marcus’ family did not stay in touch with him, he spent his breaks with the Pardues, a Volunteer Family who serves the Ranch by providing a safe and loving place for our students during breaks and holidays. As their relationship grew during these breaks, the Pardue family felt the Lord calling them to have a more active role in Marcus’ life. They decided to open their home to him on a full-time basis and enroll him in Christian Academy of Knoxville. Marcus had a love for team sports and was interested in pursuing athletics, as well as academics.

After graduating high school at Christian Academy of Knoxville, Marcus was awarded a scholarship to play football at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Marcus is currently working at Dealer’s Warehouse as Assistant Manager in shipping and receiving.
