I’ve always struggled with raising my hands during worship. I feel too self-conscious to do so. And that makes me feel weak in my faith in the Lord. That is one of the enemy’s favorite tools to use against me. To make me doubt my own faith. I had just read the beginning of Grant Me Wisdom. I had to lookup the definition of ‘reprobate’ – I thought I might be one, though I don’t really match the description, except where I wonder ‘Am I really saved?’

(Grant Me Wisdom) Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith.
Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? –
    unless indeed you are disqualified.

I can relate. When I first tried to worship publicly in this way I felt as if my arms were paralyzed. Try practicing in private. It is not important what others think or how we feel. What matters is what God says.

Regarding being a reprobate: people who are reprobate are not concerned about this danger. Satan is called “the accuser of the brethren.” He will try to assure people that sin is not sinful, but heap condemnation on those who are seeking to obey Jesus. Our righteousness is in Christ Jesus alone. He is our defender. 1 John 1:5-10; 3:1-3 and 19-24.

Be encouraged and keep trusting Jesus!
