Abby Reamsnyder

Receptionist

Abby was born in Richmond, Virginia, but went to Bible college in Upstate New York, and then received her degree in Intercultural Studies with a minor in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at Columbia International University in South Carolina.  She has worked at Chick-fil-a, worked as a nanny for multiple families, and in different roles in camp ministries during her college summers.  While she was in college in South Carolina, she found out about the Ranch through a lady at her church whose son and daughter-in-law were houseparents at the time.  The idea of working at the Ranch stuck in her mind for a few years while she finished up school, and she visited for the first time in April 2019.  She felt like the Lord was providing an open door to work there, so, after a summer trip to Germany, she began working at the Ranch as a mentor in August 2019.  She worked in Oak Rise as a mentor for two years, and then transitioned to working in the Welcome Center as the receptionist in August 2021.

Abby loves exploring the outdoors, singing, embroidering, cooking and baking, and creating things with her hands and mind, and all of these are things she loves to share with the students and teach them about.  She is passionate about creating memorable experiences and helping organize events that add to the culture of the Ranch.  She recognizes that God has infused His creativity into every facet of this world, and as His children, made in His image, we are called to imitate Him in this way.

1 Corinthians 1:27-31 “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.  And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
