Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial. James 1:12

Progress looks different for each child at the Ranch. Some come to us and need a while to acclimate to their new surroundings. Others join us and it’s evident they have learned skills of surviving amidst change. On the outside, it’s difficult to see what weight is being carried on the inside. Whether a child progresses as slowly as a turtle or as quickly as a rabbit, we know that persistence is key to their success.

So, what is success? If a child leaves the Ranch, attends college, enjoys a prosperous career with a healthy family are they successful? From an earthly perspective – yes! Yet, in Matthew 16:26 we see the words of Jesus, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”

Some children leave the Ranch and truly struggle. Please keep them in your prayers! We are thrilled to hear from them later to learn that while they are at their lowest, they remember what they learned at Wears Valley Ranch. They share how things were so different for them here. Some finally surrender themselves to Jesus as Lord. Hallelujah!

Jordan came to the Ranch in his late teens. His academic testing revealed he had potential, but a lot of catching up to do. At age 20, Jordan graduated from the Ranch, then college and seminary with honors. He is currently a pastor at Calvary Redeeming Grace Church outside of Denver, Colorado.

None of Jordan’s accomplishments compare with his relationship with the Lord. When viewed through the eyes of eternity, Jordan has achieved great success.

And, God gets all the glory.
