Clayton Wood

President & CEO

When he was 11 years old, Clayton Wood moved to Wears Valley with his family as his parents were pursuing a vision to provide a safe haven for children in crisis. He began his studies at the University of Tennessee at age 15 and went on to get a law degree at Washington and Lee University with a focus in constitutional law.

While working for the American Center for Law and Justice, he met his wife, Danielle. The couple lived in Atlanta for a time, then moved back to East Tennessee where Clayton became the leader of an inner-city ministry in Knoxville focused on at-risk kids. The Lord has greatly blessed that ministry with tremendous growth and results. Clayton and Danielle have five children.

“I consider it a blessing and an amazing opportunity to assume the role of Executive Director of the Ranch,” says Clayton. “Dad has faithfully and obediently guided the Ranch to a great position with excellent staff and financial stability. These factors put the Ranch in a wonderful position to enable growth and leverage the Ranch to bless children in future generations.”

Through the years, the Lord has clearly been preparing Clayton for his role at the Ranch. We are grateful! Please keep Clayton and his precious family in your prayers as you pray also for the students of Wears Valley Ranch.
