At Wears Valley Ranch we believe our food is more than just a meal; it’s a gift from God. His gifts nourish our children’s bodies, strengthen their spirits, and teach them valuable life skills. Every day, we are reminded of the abundant provision God graciously provides, and we are deeply thankful for the role you play in this. Our amazing Chef Josh (featured here in the newsletter) prepares lunch Monday through Friday for the entire Ranch family; houseparents and mentors are responsible for all other meals in the homes. We’re building future families as we train young adult mentors to learn to cook for a group.

We often include in the menu food we grow and raise ourselves at WVR. Our farm and ranching programs are not just about growing food and tending animals; it’s also about growing hope, resilience, and self-sufficiency in our students. With your support, children in our care learn the art of farming, ranching, and cooking, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of food production and preparation. They tend to animals, cultivate crops, and, most importantly, learn the responsibility that comes from stewarding God’s creation. As they master the skill of cooking, they have the joy of turning the fruits of their labors into meals. We believe these skills will not only serve them well, but will become a blessing for their own family and friends in the future.

God uses your generosity to enable us to feed, educate, and prepare our students for the future. Your donations provide equipment and all of the needed groceries to ensure that the Ranch continues to flourish and that our kitchen and dining hall remain places of learning, love, and gratitude. Each meal served is a testament to your kindness and a reflection of God’s love for these children.
