Wears Valley Ranch provides Christ-centered homes and accredited K-12 education for children from difficult family situations. The Ranch is located in Sevier County, in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In recognition of its commitment to integrity, Wears Valley Ranch has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. According to Charity Navigator, only 25% of the charities they evaluate receive this distinction.
“We have to give all the credit for any success we have achieved to God,” says Executive Director, Jim Wood. “There is simply no other way to explain the way the Ranch was established or the way the Ranch is sustained. The rating is a great endorsement of our commitment to being careful caretakers of what the Lord has blessed us with. We are grateful to those who entrust us with their support, and to staff who seek to be above reproach in their financial stewardship. Above all, we are grateful to God for making the Ranch possible for children who need to be here.”

Tuition accounts for only 5% of our income. This means that donations from individuals, churches, and foundations are our primary source of support.
