Children at St. Andrew’s School learn valuable lessons from gardening.

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24

Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 17:8

While many American families open a can to enjoy fruits and vegetables, students at the Ranch learn that beans are formed from blooms of bean plants, and potatoes are harvested from the roots of potato plants. We have several apple trees that provide delicious treats. The zinnias that are planted next to the okra plants are great for summer bouquets, while the bees pollinate the plants as they collect nectar needed for honey production.

Pat Brown is a patient instructor as he cares for our garden – and our students. We are grateful to the Lord for these opportunities.
